Kamille Saabre Zingg used to live in Switzerland and now lives in Tallinn, Estonia. She is a marvellous painter and she is used to work patiently to aim the perfectionism. On her homepage she says: "My quest for “colors” has pushed me to various places. I have been looking for my identity in NYC, starting the family in Zürich and settling down in Tallinn. To my color palette adds Polish grandfather, Turkish grandmother, Egyptian father, Estonian mother and Swiss husband. All these diverse tones shape my life and art."
Since our Swiss Estonian Association (SES/SEA) did not have a logo yet, we reached out to Kamille, who used to wear a webdesigner hat in the past, to ask her help with shaping a new logo for us.
Out of several logo designs, this logo was the favourite of our Association members.
This logo presents the colours of Estonian flag (blue-black-white), it presents a road or a way local Estonians took to reach Switzerland. The blue Matterhorn symbolises mountain rich country - our new homeland.
The "way" or "road" reminds of Estonian national bird - Suitsupääsuke - which again reflects our 100 birdhouses project.
Thank you Kamille.
Beautiful gift for our association and beautiful gesture to mark 100 years of Republic of Estonia globally.
Logo launch took place on June 25th, 2017 at mid-summer gathering in Winterthur. Read more: www.facebook.com/SveitsiEestiSelts
